This is a very well-received boat riding and walking tour of Beijing (available from late April to mid October), providing an opportunity to see a bit of everything in the capital, both historical sites and everyday life of Beijing. You will cruise along the imperial canal in a traditional style motorized canopy boat past Beijing Zoo, Beijing Aquarium and the Purple Bamboo Garden while appreciating the great views en route. We stop at the Purple Bamboo Garden to stroll around and meet up with a local sing-along group which is hidden in bamboo forests. Appreciate the passionate amateurs of the community singing.

Then we continue our journey by boat heading directly into the Summer Palace,and change boat to cruise on the Kunming lake. Then we continue our tour with a guided walk (mounting on the hill or take a side walk around the hill) that ends at the North gate. And then we will drive back to CCC office. (Please note that we will not visit the palaces near the east gate, as they are packed most time of the year. )

If you don't want to tour the Summer Palace, you can do a half-day tour finishing the boat ride at the Purple Bamboo Garden near the west third ring road, or at the South gate of Summer Palace.

Please bring your own picnic lunch, or request additional picnic lunch if you book a private tour (minimum 8 people).

  • CCC does not offer regular set packages for this tour. However we are happy to help you plan a private custom-made one. Please scroll this web page down to check non-negotiable fixed prices and propose a date for your own group. Please note that we do not create a private tour and then make it available for individual people to join. We also do not contact other people to add to a group tour. Similarly, we can create custom-made private tours or activities for you and your family or friends or co-workers at set-prices.

  • Bespoke Tour Prices: 

    A 3 hours chartered traditional style canopy boat from the dock to the Summer Palace including boat trip along the canal and walks in two attractions:

    RMB 3,500 for 1-7 guests
    RMB 450/ person for 8-10 guests
    RMB 420/ person for 11-15 guests

    Children's discounts:
    0-4 years old for free
    5-7 years old have 50% off
    8-11 years old have 20% off

    Additional services available upon requests: meal musical instruments on boat, cultural classes, night performance, as well as airport transfers, contact us for details and quotation.

    CCC services include:
    * CCC's own experienced English speaking guide
    * Water, soft drinks and snack
    * Entrance fee for all sights mentioned in the program
    * Local travel insurance (Insurance can be arranged for you without additional cost. Please get in touch well in advance with all details of your travelers from official names, country to passport numbers, etc. if you would like to have your insurance, it usually takes at least two working days to organize.)

    Not included:
    * Transfers in customary air conditioned coaches to the dock and return from the Summer Palace.
    * Meal on the boat.

    Guided Tour in the Summer Palace will be quoted seperately.
