Adam Williams will focus on the historical background of his first novel, "The Palace of Heavenly Pleasure", which is illustrated by approx 75 contemporary photographs and films.
Friday, Oct.21, 8pm Romantic Evening of Chinese Music & Songs
World-famous musicians will serenade us playing traditional Chinese instruments and trill to the vocal talents of accomplished folk singers. Registration is essential.
Saturday, Oct.22, 2:30pm Guided Tour: Taoist White Cloud Monastery
Join CCC' s guided tour with a famous Taoism expert to the beautiful White Cloud Monastery, and learn the complicated statues of spirits and deities of this largest and most popular Taoist site in Beijing
Sunday, Oct.23 Day-trip: Eastern Qing Tombs

Guided tour to the famous Taoist White Cloud Monastery (Saturday, 2:30pm) | & fengshui
Professor Zhao (specialized in architecture and fengshui) will guide us to the tombs which are "home to, among others, the Empress Dowager Ci Xi and the Emperor Qianlong ("China's longest reining emperor"). It will also be a pleasant walk along the miles-long Spirit Way to the tomb complex to view the beautiful forest, bridges, and pavilions.

Learn to perform Chinese tea ceremony with CCC experts at Cathy View, Shunyi, free of charge. All participants have chance to practise.
Wednesday, October 26, 8pm Talk: Qinghai-Tibetan Railway Construction
Mr. Li will share with us his 4 years of extensive research on its ecological impact, the building of wildlife crossing tunnels and the restoration of vegetation after earth excavation, since the start of the construction of the Qinghai-Tibet railway.
