Li Changping, speaker of this Friday's China'r Rural Reform | Highlight of the week
This Friday talk: China's Rural Reform Februrary 22, 10:00-12:00 After 30 years, Chinese farmers ¨C the first beneficiaries of the economic reform ¨C have all but lost the gains they made in the 1980¡¯s and are, again, struggling with dire poverty while seeing no way out, except to abandon their land. Having himself been a rural official, renowned researcher and writer Mr. Li Changping has spent many years studying the rural issues of China and advocating for the livelihood of the 800 million disadvantaged Chinese citizens. He will share his assessment of the past and current agricultural policies and knowledge of the latest developments.
