Baoding is a historical and cultural city, 140 kilometers to Beijing in he south and 160 kilometers, Tianjin in the west. Its tourist attractions include the ancient Lotus Pond, one of the 10 famous ancient gardens in China, the well-reserved Governor's Residence of Zhi Li (former name of Hebei) Province in Qing Dynasty (which was established in the 7th year of Yongzheng Emperor, Qing Dynasty, and is the only well preserved ancient governor's building in China); the Western Tombs of the Qing Dynasty; and the jade clothes sewn with gold thread excavated from the Han Tombs in Mancheng which arose the world-wide attention; the Baiyangdian Wetland (360 square kilometers of marsh and swarmp of lotus patches and fish and of tall reeds with lotuses and water lilies concealed within); and the War Tunnels (20,000 square meters of the best-kept secret army tunnel constructed during 1930's Anti-Japanese war). 



CCC is going to take you to have a quick look at the downtown, and then drive to the suburb to explore the War Tunnel Site, Mancheng Han Dynasty Prince Tombs, and a huge herbal medicine wholesale market.



The Han Dynasty Prince Tombs is where Liu Sheng and his wife, the first emperor of Zhongshan State, Western Han Dynasty over 2000 years ago, were buried with the whole jade clothes sewn with gold thread. You will go down to the underground tomb to have a look at the mummy bound with complete jade & gold clothes, pottery cart and horses, and the famous unearthed Changxin Palatial Lantern.
